Don’t Be Fooled By Cheap, Thinner & Flimsy Timber Decking

There are many timber merchants offering cheap garden decking but don’t be misled! There are normally two thicknesses, 22mm and 28mm, the latter is the quality product fitted by ourselves and professionals alike. 22mm, sometimes even thinner, does not last as long and if the timber joists are fitted at 600mm centres, you’ll find your garden deck will have a ‘spring’ effect.

Even if you decide to fit your garden deck yourself, use 28mm thick deck boards! The little additional cost will far outweigh the problems you could experience with thinner inferior deck boards.
